Check guests in with the scanner
Run your door with a phone — no hardware, and it keeps working when the signal drops.
The scanner is built into the app. Any phone is a door terminal.
Getting set up
- Open Scanner.
- Pick your event.
- Point it at a guest's QR code.
Green means they're in and they've been marked as arrived. Red means something's wrong — the screen tells you which.
What the results mean
- Valid — checked in. Let them through.
- Already scanned — that code has been used; the screen shows when it was first scanned. Usually a forwarded screenshot — sort it out with whoever's holding it.
- Wrong event — a real ticket, but for something else. Check the date.
- Not found — not a Liventix code, or a badly damaged one.
When the camera won't cooperate
Cracked screen, dim display, damaged code — have the guest open their ticket fresh from Tickets and scan that; a re-opened ticket renders a clean code. If their phone is dead entirely, their order confirmation email opens the ticket from any other phone.
Running a door with a team
You don't have to do this yourself. Invite people as Scanner and they get scanning access to that event and nothing else — no sales figures, no guest data beyond what the door needs, no settings. Scanners and your cohosts are the ones who can validate tickets; the other team labels can't.
See Invite a cohost.
Practical notes
- Signal. The scanner tolerates a weak connection and syncs when it recovers. It does not tolerate airplane mode.
- Battery. Scanning with the camera and the screen bright is brutal on a phone. Bring a battery pack.
- Speed. Two phones on a busy door roughly halves the queue. It's the cheapest fix available to you.
